Today, Australia has voted ‘yes’ in the same-sex marriage survey, voting in favour of changing the Marriage Act to allow same-sex marriage weighing in at 61 percent of the vote.
This vote now means the marriage equality process will now return to Canberra and require parliament to formally allow it. More than 12 million Australians participated in the multimillion-dollar plebiscite, with over 65,000 new young Australians enrolling to vote, along with many of those in the music industry.
