Geelong’s Laneways is now open and there’s a street party to celebrate

Central Geelong’s Laneways precinct is now reopened and is ready for action. After an extensive upgrade to the area, it’s now down to a few final touches.

And to celebrate the completion of the project, a free all-ages street party will be held on Friday December 8 2017.

The Laneways Project is a key action of the Revitalising Central Geelong Action Plan, focused on the popular eating and shopping area of the ‘West End’ of Little Malop Street and adjoining laneways. It builds on existing business investment in the area by enhancing the streetscapes with:

– new paving surfaces
– additional trees and plantings
– public art
– additional alfresco areas
– street furniture
– improved lighting

The Revitalising Central Geelong projects aim to bring more people into central Geelong to live and work and increase creativity and vibrancy across the city.

Come and make merry with after work drinks, late night trading, live music, entertainment, street performers, special promotions and offers and dinner.

Businesses in Little Malop Street, James Street and the adjoining laneways will be serving after work drinks and dinner.

Where: Lt Malop Street and James Street (between Gheringhap and Moorabool Street) and the laneways in between.

When: Friday December 8, 4PM – LATE

Cost: Free event. Food and drinks at restaurant prices.

Parking: Free from 6pm – 11pm at Civic Carpark, corner of Lt Malop and Gheringhap Streets.
