Opening for trade on August 29, after eight years of consistently high service, the salon has noticed a massive difference in their ability to provide for clients. Their updated floor space now has a colour table and separate basin room where clients can sit around while their colour sets, free from mirrors and self-consciousness; a separate barber station; four more chairs; and extra staff.
Raw Edge pride themselves on using ethical practising, being the first sustainable salon to open in Geelong, having cruelty-free vegan and vegetarian products and colours. They recycle and compost their waste, educating themselves about what they can do to contribute to sustainability efforts. They also donate 1% of their products to Geelong Animal Rescue.

New services include memberships where clients pay weekly, fortnightly or monthly membership fees to come in and get their hair done: “it’s like a gym membership for your hair”. They have a style bar on every Friday and Saturday, where people can come in before they go out and get their hair done in blow-waves and up-styles.
