Attention for all the coffee-and-liquor-loving Melbournians…

The Mr Black Festival of the Espresso Martini returns for its second year, and we could not be more pleased with this news.

Last year, Melbourne’s Mr Black Spirits launched this amazing festival devoted entirely to the delicious possibilities of espresso, vodka and coffee liqueur and it turned out to be a massive hit (of course) and sold out in no time at all.

Now it’s back, and it set to be even bigger this year. Running from Friday November 3 to Sunday November 5 at the Meat Market in North Melbourne, the festival will be showcasing some of the city’s best bartenders and chefs for a day of food and cocktail sampling, masterclasses and partying with cocktail in hand.

This year punters will be treated to a six-bar cocktail village where you an enjoy caffeinated creations from some of Melbourne’s best specialty coffee roasters, bars and coffee shops. The team recommends starting with the MR BLACK COFFEE SHOP – White Russian slushie, anyone, or if you dare, try the Mr Black’s OG Espresso Martini topped with a donut.. um what!?

At the main bar, you’ll be able to try a variety of Espresso Martini concoctions, along with a gin and tonic bar and icy cold beers for those of you that don’t like the coffee beverage of our dreams.

As for the food, this year they’ve got an American barbecue by Fancy Hank’s, Greek fare from Zeus St Greek Food, That Arancini guys, Butter Mafia and lots more.

In addition, there’ll be workshops on perfecting the dark art of the Espresso Martini and even some Cold Brew classes, plus live bands for your entertainment.

Are you ready? Because we are!
