Spring at the Potato Shed

Spring… A great time of the year. Time to be out and about – new beginnings… refresh and renew… and we have a whole stack of new coming up at everyone’s favourite little spot, the Potato Shed.

Dance Initiative Productions return with a new work called WOMEN presented through dance and visual art making. This production personifies real life concepts familiar to women throughout time. Where dance interprets story and painting illustrates dance, metres of blank canvas is transformed to an abstract field of coloured gestural impressions. This new work will be presented in Cabaret Style and plays on Saturday September 16, at 8pm.

Something new we welcome is the Suburban Sandcastles troupe on Wednesday September 20 with “Screenages” a conversation and film night – dealing with issues in all our lives – for full details and bookings visit www.suburbansandcastles.com.

Heading straight into the school holidays – we have two weeks of Kelly Club School Holiday Program, along with the great 3222 for Kids back with the classic tale of Little Red Riding Hood – with lots of colourful characters and songs, making it great fun for everyone. Two shows a day at 10.30 and 1.30 from Tuesday October 3 until Friday October 6.

October is one of our busy time periods. We have the Seniors Festival and Children’s Week activities throughout the Month. For the Seniors – along with our Morning Showtime we have the wonderful Geelong Harmony Chorus with their Sing Into Spring Concert on Sunday October 8 at 2pm. Thursday 12 we welcome LaMama with Birdcage Thursdays – a new work dealing with hoarding – on at 8pm. Direct from Adelaide we have Exposing Edith – a special Sunday afternoon treat on October 29 at 2pm. Presented Cabaret Style and having performed to sell-out crowds around Australia, this really is one not to miss!
