Ms Bartronica is where two worlds collide

Espresso Martini in one hand, joystick in the other. I never thought these two worlds would collide, but I’m seriously glad they did.

Located in the heart of Geelong, Ms Bartronica promises a nostalgic walk down memory lane with old school arcade games, alongside some damn fine cocktails (and spirits and craft beers, if that’s more your thing). But let me just say, at $12 each, these are probably the best priced cocktails out there – and they don’t skimp on quality either.

Attending for the very first time, only recently for their first birthday party, I was pleasantly surprised with what was on offer. Celebrating with a massive party, the consoles were free, the pinball machines were in heavy demand and the drinks were flowing – oh, and there were party hats! Who could say no to a party hat?

During their regular hours, Ms Bartronica also holds fiercely competitive tournaments such as Smash Bros, Pokemon Stadium, Grand Turismo 3, Mario Kart 64 and Golden Eye 64. Who can turn down a Mario Kart tournament? Shot gun Princess Peach!

What’s more, they also host weekly trivia nights. So far they’ve had trivia nights for Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, Friends, Rick and Morty and even Dawson’s Creek. I was absolutely shattered when I couldn’t find any fellow Buffy The Vampire Slayer fans for their trivia night last month. I have some serious knowledge of the Watchers’ Council, demonology and witchcraft and would have slayed this trivia battle of TV’s most legendary series – just sayin’. Little did I know that Ms Bartronica can actually allocate teams if you’re riding solo! Next time I’m there – by myself and with a cocktail in hand.

Decked out like no other bar in town, the small venue has a super relaxed vibe where you can sit down with some fine drinks and chat to friends, as well have some fun with all the games. Definitely a ‘must visit’.

Ms Bartronica is located at 159 Ryrie Street.
