AMPED is Geelong’s newest bar where you are guaranteed to dine, drink and dance – either separately, or all at the same time. Either way, it is sure to be a good night! The new bar has received an excellent reception, with only good reports coming in since its opening. Ran by two local music lovers, Shel and Shane Turley, Amped aims “to keep live music alive in the Geelong region” and to have it accessible to all ages with everyone, young and old, welcome in the venue.
From Wednesday to Sunday, Amped will feature local live musicians from both Geelong and Melbourne – though mostly staying local to Geelong. Artists already featured include Groove Nation, Buxon Blues, Dean Cockerall, Andy Forster and Luke Biscan – just to name a few. There is also a series of music events already planned, including some awesome Sunday night tribute shows for artists such as Robbie Williams, Matchbox 20 and Bon Jovi and a monthly “Singles Night”. The venue will also host Lukey’s Open Mic Night for upcoming artists fortnightly on Wednesday nights, starting next week.
If hunger strikes, Amped also has food available ranging from smaller snacks such as pizza, nachos or the best selling Potachoes (a combination of wedges and nachos, served with sour cream, bacon and all sorts of other goodness) or something bigger – like a burger or parmigiana.
Complete with security to ensure everyone has the best night possible (and gets home safe), along with free parking from 5:30, and the venue itself decked out with colourful wall art, artist portraits hung on the walls, a VIP lounge area with a photo wall and fun props, as well as two fully stocked bars, Amped really is the perfect venue for a night out.
On top of all that there is still more good things to come, with a rooftop opening soon which will be perfect for the summer, and even more perfect for the summer time tunes.
As they also take bookings (including for Christmas), there is no excuse to be missing out on this quality venue – whether it be for a music packed night out, a work function or even just a meal.
