Launching in Geelong earlier this year, The Jungle Body is the newest and most innovative way to get your fitness game on.
Taking the form of a series of dance-style fitness classes, it is a workout of true versatility, with programs designed with the intent to comfortably sculpt, tone and improve overall fitness.
Suitable for all fitness levels, each class consists of easy-to-follow moves, with modifications offered for each step, so to cater to your fitness capabilities.
Australian owned and operated, The Jungle Body was founded in 2010 by Tara Simich. With a keen passion for business and fitness, Tara created The Jungle Body based around the belief that dance is the best medicine for the soul.
Marketed at even those who consider themselves to have two left feet, mother-of-three Kylie Reed decided to bring this movement to Geelong, priding herself on having created an environment that is free from judgement. With an impressive dance background spanning over 25 years, Kylie ensures this space is one and all are comfortable enough to let go and allow themselves to move to the music. And it is exactly that.
The Jungle Body consists of six programs: KONGA, VYPA, TYGA, JAGUA, BURN! and KONGA KIDS.
The only program on offer in Geelong as of current is KONGA – a high intensity workout, which combines boxing, cardio, hip hop and dance. But never fear the cardio workout again because they pump up the tunes and smash out some great tracks together! It’s set to the best of old school hits, RnB and hottest hits of today, sure to get every man and his dog moving and grooving. Trust us – we tried it and even the most uncoordinated of us had a blast. You’ll feel the burn and the sweat, but you’ll actually enjoy it! If you like the idea of working out but feel a bit intimidated by the gym, or going for a run is just all too hard, then this is for you.
BURN! and VYPA are said to be coming to Geelong soon, alongside KONGA KIDS, with Kylie noting that she personally endeavours to be able to provide all the above programs to the Geelong region, as the business proceeds to grow with much nurturing, love and support.
With news that BURN! and VYPA are coming soon though, there’s reason to get excited. BURN! Incorporates Dumbbells into the workout, to enhance toning and sculpting. A primarily fat-burning focused workout, it adds to an already fun and high energy dance workout.
VYPA on the other hand is marketed as being ‘hardcore’ and ‘bad ass’, featuring High Internsity Interval Training (HIIT), this one will see you burn up to 800 calories during each class. With choreography inspired by a mash-up of martial arts, cage fighting, hip hop and polymetrics, this one will push you to your limits, ultimately increasing strength.
The Jungle Body also offers a variety of services for groups, including corporate, sporting club training, hens’ parties and fundraisers, as well as demonstrations.
Unco ordinated? No rhythm? Two left feet? It does not matter! You will still love this work out! All you need is a water bottle, a sweat towel and a yoga mat for those cool down stretches.
