Welcome to THTH, Forte’s premier source of all things heavy, hard, fast and metal.
It feels like a lot of THTH columns this year have featured some type of RIP to a lost brother within the hard rock and metal community and this edition is no exception. I can’t pretend that Linkin Park had no effect on myself. Their debut album Hybrid Theory was a pretty kick arse album for 2000 and it came at a time where I was coming to the end of being an ‘angsty’ teenager. Chester’s vocals were really rockin’ and his lyrics seemed to make so much sense at the time, but when I listened back to the album some 17 years later, I can see the lyrics were a severe cry for help. RIP Chester Bennington.
