Channel your inner rockabilly at the Rats, Tatts n’ Pinups event

Rockabilly fans are in for a treat with an evening of blues-infused old-school rock’n’roll music, attitude and fashion at the annual Rats, Tatts n’ Pinups Social Club night.

Featuring some of Australia’s best rockabilly, blues and rock’n’roll bands, the Gateway Hotel will be invaded with an insane line-up never seen in Geelong before. Featuring for the first time at the event, we’ve got Shot in Reno, Aaron Schembri Band, The Raccoons all the way from Tasmania, and Queensland’s Little Billie, while local hero’s Cadillac Drifters will ensure the night is fuelled with strong ’50s rhythms.

With an ambience akin to any ’50s classic movie, the day will also include a spectacle of classic chrome, custom paints and metal flake in the form of cars, hot rods and bikes from the era taking over the carpark, for curious punters and auto enthusiasts to peruse amongst the retro relics and candid customs visually absorbing the metal mayhem.

A rockabilly event wouldn’t be complete without a collection of tattooists showcasing their talents created on human canvases, barbers, or a ladies retro beauty stall – which are sure to be crowd pleasers. There will also be a full art department and gallery, live airbrush/pin-striping (booking is essential for that one), and an array of kids entertainment.

Hosted by the clothing range Kingpin Kuztums and in support of beyondblue, this family friendly event is sure to be a unique Saturday night for all, charging only a gold coin donation on entry.

Relax, style your hair with a quiff and take in the rockabilly surroundings with like-minded enthusiasts for an evening of blues-infused old school rock’n’roll, with a promise of a red hot, high rolling, rockabilly rumble with all the trimmings.

When & Where: Gateway Hotel, Corio – August 12, from 12pm to 9pm
