The Workers Club Geelong is hosting the regional launch of Music Victoria’s Live Music Professional Program

Live music is at the crux of a successful music industry. Thanks to Music Victoria, a brand new and vibrant program has been created to help create a sustainable live music sector – and they’re launching it in Geelong tonight.

The program, Live Music Professionals, is ultimately geared towards strengthening Victoria’s diverse and vibrant music communities, and support the people responsible for bringing live music into Victoria’s live music venues and festivals.

It aims at helping both venues and independent promoters to run sustainable businesses that support live and original music, as well as providing assistance to those who may be isolated or have difficulty in creating opportunities and building networks. The program also aims to help create more live music in any and all communities.

For two days, nearly 40 of Victoria’s up and coming music industry and most prominent music professionals will descend on Geelong, and the Workers Club for a packed schedule which includes a range of development coaching, workshops and, of course, conversations around and about music.

Along with the Workers Club’s Steven Nichols, other participants of the program include Leavin’ Here/Deadwest/Karova Carpark Festival’s Lachlan Anderson, Narana Festival Director Lincon Boyd, band booker Harriet Susannah Hudson, Warrnambool’s The Loft owner Gerard Mast and Festival Director and Paradise Music Festival’s Andrew Peter Glover – among others!

The event kicks off Tuesday August 8 at the Workers Club Geelong.
