Women everywhere unite to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week

This week women around the globe united to celebrate the 25th annual World Breastfeeding Week 2017.

Every year, the first week of August is celebrated to encourage mothers and families to support breastfeeding, providing a place for mums to voice their need and gain the additional support they may need, with thousands of mums on social media sharing photos of them with their dear children.

On 1 August Franjo’s Kitchen got around the cause and celebrated World Breastfeeding Week with an event at One Roof in Southbank.

About 75 soon-to-be and new mums and their bubs who enjoyed a range of presentations on everything from breastfeeding to nutrition, postpartum recovery and infant massage.

After a delicious and healthy lunch, mums were treated to a panel discussion with inspiring mums, Annie Nolan, Mardi Dangerfield and Olivia White.

There was also a series of interactive demonstrations from a naturopath, post-natal yoga instructor, baby massage therapist, midwife and lactation consultant.

There were smiles and there were tears, as women united to share their brestfeeding journey’s and talk about a topic which is quite often considered taboo.
