Armand Van Helden and the MSO join forces for one-off Melbourne show

House icon Armand Van Helden is teaming up with the MSO for a one-off Melbourne slot.

On Saturday 27 January 2018, house music legend Armand Van Helden and the MSO will join forces on stage for one night only, heralding the inaugural Symphonica concert.

The New York heavyweight has not appeared on Australian shores for seven years and electronic fans have been waiting feverishly for disclosure from the icon.

Needless to say, Van Helden has dominated club culture since he rose to prominence in the ’90s. He’s electronic virtuosity has inspired producing tastemakers the world over and his radio supremacy has been nothing short of meteoric.

Van Helden and the MSO’s 70-piece orchestra will breathe life into his long list of house classics, including the euphoric tracks U Don’t Know Me, My My My, Bonkers (feat. Dizzee Rascal) and I Want Your Soul. This is not even touching on the dozen odd underground club anthems that Armand has to his name. It’s set to be an unforgettable evening.

The show will become part of the MSO’s new direction Symphonica. The Armand Van Helden collaboration will be Symphonica’s first instalment of a number of new live partnerships with contemporary music icons.
