Welcome to THTH, Forte’s premier source of all things heavy, hard, fast and metal.
Looking for a good book? Check out For the Sake of Heaviness: the History of Metal Blade Records for something that you can judge by its title. It was written by Metal Blade founder and CEO Brian Slagel with Mark Eglinton and features a foreword by Lars Ulrich. The release of the book also celebrates the label’s 35 year anniversary. The book recounts how Brian created Metal Blade and it’s growth from its base at Brian’s mum’s garage to one of the biggest and most respected metal labels in the industry. For the Sake of Heaviness: the History of Metal Blade Records will be out on Tuesday August 29.
