Geelong first for Pakington cafe

Geelong locals, you’ve now got one more reason to enjoy your latte thanks to social enterprise café Pakington Cottage.

The café’s customers can add $2 to their bill as a donation for their complimentary tap water which helps facilitate Australian charity Community Generation’s clean water and sanitation projects in rural Cambodian schools and homes.

The partnership is a first for a Geelong based business who after looking for opportunities to create a social enterprise in Siem Reap, Cambodia, mother and son duo James and Tracy Skilbeck decided to do something a bit closer to home, purchasing the cafe and making their socially conscious business dreams a reality.

Pakington Cottage owner Tracy Skilbeck said the partnership was designed to help Geelong locals help those less fortunate than them.

“We know the people of Geelong want to give when they can but they might not always know how to,” she says.

“Pakington Cottage now exists not only to satisfy Geelong locals’ tastebuds but also to help them give back to those less fortunate in Geelong and overseas.”
