Ms Bartronica: More than just a games bar

Things are always on the move at Geelong Arcade Hotspot Ms Bartronica, and the recent addition of the monster two player shooting fest Time Crisis 2 has proven a real hit with the punters. When you add well-priced cocktails, beers and mixers to the equation, things are looking really good. Add game console booths, pinball machines and a great selection of arcade games from yesteryear to this and a great night out is ensured!

But did you know they have regular Wednesday Trivia Nights? Or GoldenEye tournaments?
Now these ain’t your run-of-the –mill trivia nights. These are aimed at those who think they know a thing or two about classic cartoons such as Family Guy, Futurama, Archer, The Simpsons and the likes. These nights aren’t limited to cartoon buffs though!

You know World of Warcraft? Well, get down there on July 5 for WOW trivia. How about Game of Thrones? Yep, they have that coming on July 12. And for good measure, all of you J.K. Rowling fans out there have a new thing to do on July 12, because your knowledge of all things Quidditch will be put to the test with a Harry Potter themed trivia night.

Whilst you may smash me at the trivia side of things, I’d be more than happy to take you on in one of the Console Tournaments that they have on Thursday nights. Do you think you’re pretty good at GoldenEye? Well, keep your eyes open for another GoldenEye tournament and get ya butt down there, because I am sick of Martin bragging about his winnings on my Facebook feed. And if you are pretty good at GoldenEye, there is good chance that you will be up for the Mario Kart 64 (July 20), Smash Brothers Melee (June 29) or Crash Team Racing (July 6) tournaments.

You might have noticed I just mentioned the word winnings in the last paragraph. Well, if you didn’t really notice then, I guess you have now. These events only cost you $10 to enter, and with that, you get a pint of tap beer or cider to wet the whistle whilst winning some wealth (I just invented a tongue twister). A $50 Ms Bartronica voucher is up for grabs at every event, so please, get practicing, then get down and beat Martin! Not only do you get bragging rights, but you win money to spend at a very, very cool place, in Ms Bartronica. See you there!

Ms Bartronica is located at 159 Ryrie Street, Geelong and opened Wednesday – Saturday from 4pm.
