Kat O and the Collectables: What u put up with

Acoustic punk rock artist Kat O from Melbourne’s inner city creates a unique collaboration of songs, all of which range from super edgy to intensely harsh and controversial with this release.

Kat O’s songs deal with extremely real situations which are given a quirky and truthfully numerous twist. The often loud and reverberating voice of Kat O gives off a deep sense of passion for the reoccurring controversial lyrics about every day life.

The first sequential song on the album ‘Lost opportunities’ demands to differ from any other song you’ve ever heard. Kat O’s punk inspired voice builds as she repeats ‘lost opportunities’ to the intensifying beat backing up her extraordinary voice.

Following songs such as ‘What u put up with’ and ‘Laundry day’ follow the same intense punk vibe, yet there is a more relaxed acoustic sound which almost calms the whole album down and brings it a bit more back down to earth.

Overall, the album keeps a very strong sense of realness about it. It is quirky, yet uniquely edgy and leaves you wondering what’s next for Kat O and what real life situation her next song will confront.

Please note: Kat O is now a solo act.
