A new rapper is on the scene and his name is Mr Wilson. Utilizing sound grabs and a whole lot of synth to create the beats behind the vocals, it’s a new sound for rap in the region.
At times, throughout the release, Mr Wilson is trying to say so much that he gets lost and the message comes through unclear. But lyrically, he’s a budding wordsmith with a real interesting perspective and take on the world. Chances are his phrases will have you thinking of the world a bit differently.
‘E.n.t.o’ is a highlight, the attitude filled number just wreaks of encouraging others to stand-up and join in – the exact kind of response you want from hip hop. The song speaks of family problems, poking the bear and the rough parts of life that many others can relate to. It hits the right level of anger, tone and instrumental behind the lyrics to fully capture the audience.
Other highlights include ‘Christoofar’, ‘Random Acts of Madness’ and ‘Only in Australia’.
This has been produced in-house and while it mightn’t be to the highest quality, there is a real charm with this release. The lyrics are creative and at its core is its relatability.
