10 gigs around $15 to head to this weekend

With so many gigs set for this weekend, we thought we’d shine a light on some of the more accessible events to head to come when the weekend kicks off on Friday night (aka, for those of you light on cash).

In no particular order, here are our 10 picks.

Smoking Martha @ Kubu Studio

At $12, when you factor in you’ll also be seeing City at Midnight, Von Stache, Bound By Hound and Sorrow Nation as well as headliners Smoking Martha, that is insane value. Somebody go create one of those screaming sales ads for TV. It all goes down Sunday from 4pm at Kubu Studio in Geelong.

Benny Walker and more @ Narana Unplugged III

Okay, so we’re stretching it a little bit to $20, but given this is more a festival for that price, it still deserved to be on the list. From the creators of the yearly festival NaranaFest, this Unplugged session sees performances from Benny Walker, Alice Skye, Nathan Seeckts, Rach Brennan, Lyndon Morgan plus special guests The Deadly Dancers.

Polish Club @ Workers Club

Okay, so it may be a little bit off $15 (it sits at $23.50 when bought online), with the hard rock ‘tude and big sound Polish Club create it’s well worth throwing down the cash. It all happens tonight at the Workers Club.
