The Murlocs are heading to Geelong and Ballarat with a new album in tow

Alongside the news The Murlocs are set to release their third album, Old Locomotive, on July 28, a tour has also been announced to celebrate.

They stop by The Wool Exchange in Geelong on Friday, August 18 and the Karova Lounge in Ballarat on Saturday, August 19.

The upcoming album was produced by King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard frontman Stu Mackenzie and recorded at Flightless Records HQ. As a teaser for the release, the band has shared the new single ‘Oblivion’, which you can watch below.

As for the album itself, frontman Ambrose Kenny-Smith says it touches on “rock ‘n’ roll extinction”, abandonment and the “continuous search for a better alternative”.
