A huge karaoke festival is going down in Melbourne tomorrow night

For those with the stage confidence of Aretha Franklin, cancel your plans for Friday night because the 2017 Melbourne Karaoke Festival is your time to shine.

Providing the backbone to the festival is a karaoke competition. Anyone can enter and punters will be divided into three categories – diva’s that can’t share the stage, couples that can’t do it alone and collectives of three or more. So solo acts, duets and full tilt bands all have an opportunity.

$3,000 worth of cash prizes are up for grabs along with boasting rights as the karaoke king. The night will be judged by a special panel including world-class MC and comedian, Diana Nguyen.

Competitors and spectators will then be treated to the delicious cuisines of Melbourne’s best dumpling restaurants, with Tim Ho Wan, China Red, China Chilli and Dragon Boat Restaurant providing their services.

On top of that, for every punter that steps through the door, Sample Brewing Company will be giving away a free beer. If that’s not enough, St Gerry’s will be providing free ‘disco doughnuts’ with an edible glitter garnish while there will also be a huge Rainbow Karaoke package up for grabs.

It’s free and it’s all going down at 206 Bourke Street Friday April 28 from 5pm. For more information on how to get involved, head to the festival website.
