Lately it seems Tash Sultana can do no wrong, between touring overseas and appearing as the secret guest at Aireys Inlet Open Mic Festival, she’s proved to be a hit thanks to her organic approach to playing music.
She backs up previous hits of Jungle and Notion, with the new release Murder to the Mind. Taking a slight side step from the guitar heavy, looping mastermind of previous singles, this release focuses on Sultana’s vocals – as equally incredible as her instrumental ability.
Sultana created ‘Murder to the Mind’ on a day off during her sold out Australian tour. After purchasing a new Nord keyboard and experimenting, the lead hook to the track was created and the rest followed suit. The single was then recorded in her hometown of Melbourne with Nik Miltiadou, the same engineer behind her debut Notion EP.
Her Notion EP still sits in the top 50 of the ARIA charts seven months after its release, proof of her appeal to Australian audiences.
Sultana heads back into the studio in June to work on her debut album. She also stops by Bendigo for a set at Groovin the Moo festival.
