Ben Wright Smith drops debut album and announces national tour

Melbourne indie-folk music man Ben Wright Smith has just released his debut album, The Great Divorce, today announcing plans to hit the road for 20 shows in support of it, including a few regional stops our way.

After delivering his hit single ‘No-one’ in 2015, Smith maintained his ‘dreamboat live performer’ status in 2016 with his infectious single ‘Sand Grabber’ and now again with the release of his debut album.

Recorded in Nashville, produced by Holy Holy’s Oscar Dawson and featuring Ali Barter, Tyler Millott (Husky), Jesse Williams (Leah Senior) and Andrew Braidner (Stonefield, Ali Barter, Redcoats), Smith’s album is already off to a pretty good start. The result of such collaborations is a diverse collection of up-tempo indie-folk songs charged with pop hooks highlighting Wright Smith’s song-writing talent and instrumental flair.

Smith sets off on tour on 20 April, hitting The Bridge Hotel in Castlemaine on April 21, May 12 and June 11, Workers Club in Geelong on April 22 and The Loft in Warrnambool on June 2. Tickets via the website.

The Great Divorce will be released on March 17 on Ronnie Records through MGM Distribution.
