St. Paddy’s Day at Irish Murphy’s

St. Patrick’s Day has been a day of celebration since the 17th century – and every year on March 17th, the Irish, or Irish lovers join in on festivities that colour the day green.

If you’re on the hunt for one of the biggest St. Paddy’s events across our region this year, you can’t go past Irish Murphy’s in Geelong. The pub has had a long history with the Irish, transforming into different venues but ultimately returning to its Irish roots. Priding itself on having the best Guinness in Geelong, as well as celebrating authentic Irish culture, (this will be the first authentic Saint. Patricks’ Day in Geelong in 20 years) Geelong’s only Irish Pub are putting on their first street party since 2013.

We’ve given a run down of the massive day, clearly showing that Irish Murphy’s will be giving patrons a hell of good craic, with so much to offer it’ll spill out on the streets… literally!

Massive Outdoor Street Party

Situated on the corner of Aberdeen Street, Irish Murphy’s have been blessed with Irish luck that aside from their beautiful views, they have a massive carpark and side street to play with – ensuring that this is going to be such a big party, you’ll be glad you’ve got the weekend to recover. This space leads us into…

GIANT Inflatable Pub in the Carpark

How do you explain this one? You just can’t, so you may as well head a long and take in the experience of being served by a blow-up bar in a carpark.

Wine Caravan & Bulmers Marquee

We love when there are different locations dedicated to different forms of alcohol. Especially when one of those – Bulmers – was born and bred in Clonmel, Ireland. Everything you touch is authentic green gold.

Irish Food, Music & Celtic Dancers

If they’re having authentic Irish drink, you can bet they’re going to have authentic Irish music and dancing. No one knows how to party like the Irish, and with high energy jigs, you better wear comfy shoes, because you won’t be sitting down. With Belfast singer Ashley Smith playing, along with a range of other artists – you’re bound to be entertained. The pub are also putting on traditional Irish breakfast running between 7am – 9am, so if you’re looking for a delicious feed to start your St. Paddy’s day off right, you know where to go – bookings are essential.

Family Area with Face- Painting

If you’re worried about finding a babysitter – don’t. This is a kid friendly event and they’ll even have a family area with face-painting so the kids can have a good time and so can you!

Best Dressed Competition

And what would a St. Patrick’s day be without dressing up. Some hot tips, aside from dressing like a leprechaun and wearing green would be to have fun with it and get creative!
