Something for everyone at the inaugral harvFEST

The first inaugral harvFEST is poised to kick up their heels, celebrating a huge harvest season, whilst raising funds for local community groups.

Taking place in Skipton Recreation Reserve, harvFEST will bring people together for a fun day of local food, beer and wine as well as live music, market stalls, sporting clinics and plenty of activities for the kids.

Joining the festivities will be Geelong Footballer Tom Hawkins, to run a kids clinic as well as Australian Netballer Sarah Wall, who will also run two Netfit clinics.

As estimated 1500 people are welcome to enjoy the live band, The Magnums, plus Bendigo Soul Rock Guy ‘Skip’ will also run a Rock School for under-fives.

Event organiser, Tony Boyer, said that after such a huge harvest season the festival was a great opportunity for the Skipton community to welcome people from neighbouring towns and beyond for a day of fun.

“harvFEST will be a great event for families, kids will enjoy an animal farm, jumping castle, inflatable bucking bull, the Kelly Sports Challenge Zone and more, giving mums and dads the chance to relax and enjoy everything else we’ll have on offer.”

“The festival is also a great way for us to support our local football and netball club, and to help encourage netballers and footballers of the future through having clinics run by sporting super stars Tom Hawkins and Sarah Wall,” Mr Boyer said.

Timboon Ice-Cream, Gourmet BBQ, East India Food Truck, Brett’s Kitchen Caravan, Red Door Pizzeria and Twistto are some of the food vendors who’ll be serving up tasty delights.

Local wineries including mount Avoca Wines, Ned Kelly Red Wines and Michael Unwin Wines plus craft brewery, Red Duck Beer will also be in attendance. Espresso Mobile Coffee and the Boost Juice Mobeel will also be offering plenty of non-alcoholic options.

There will also be a major raffle with great prizes such as a trip to Noosa, ride-on-mower, Antler luggage and a Red Balloon voucher.

A return bus service will also run from Ballarat Train Station and Delacombe Mini Mart throughout the day.
