Cotton On set to open cafe/bar on Pakington Street

Local clothing brand, Cotton On, are set to enter the hospitality game with an application recently lodged with council for a Pakington Street cafe and bar.

The space is set to be located at the old Pizza Bar, People’s Potatoes and building in between, creating a dining, cafe and bar space for 311 people.

As the Geelong Advertiser reports from the application, the new venue will feature, “two bars and a coffee/breakfast area fronting the street; dining tables in the middle section; and A courtyard and function space, with a retractable roof.

Pakington Street continues to grow with its many food offerings, covering everything from Eastern European to Korean.

Cotton On as it stands has employed around 1,100 workers across the eight brands under its operation, and with this new venue it will add to the opportunities in a difficult workplace.

Unfortunately, with live music previously a feature at Pizza Bar, there will be no live music at this new venue.

With plans lodged for the venue, opening dates and construction are yet to be confirmed. Stay tuned for more information.
