Negative Waves Festival announced for 2017

With the 2017 calendar already filling up quickly, you’ll want to save the date for this brand new night of rock.

From the guys that bought us the annual River Rocks Festival (and who thrive on Geelong’s musical talent), The Barwon Club have now announced Negative Waves Festival set for May 6 next year.

Created in honour of Bored! (a local punk rock band you would find at the BC every weekend), they have compiled an epic rock line-up, featuring headlines Brant Bjork (USA), Nashville Pussy (USA) and The Peep Tempel.

“We are lucky to be from Geelong, the amazing talent that has come out of this town for the past 30 odd years is crazy, we have Magic Dirt, Warped, Dirty Lovers and the newer generations of King Gizzard, Orb, The Living Eyes, Ausmuteants, far to many to mention…” a spokeperson of the event says.

“One band that has always done it for us, one band that brought Detroit to Geetroit, that band is Bored! And if we cant have Bored! Playing every weekend like they used to at The Barwon Club we thought we would just create a festival in honour of them!”

Also hitting the stage will be the likes of Hits, Power, Batpiss, Zeahorse, The Ruiner, Dr. Collosus, Sabrina Lawrie and The Hunting Party, Don Fernando, The Good Time Aussie Bogalars, Fuck The Fitzroy Doom Scene, Killer Birds, Holy Serpent, Coffin Wolf, Carcosa and Lost Tacos – with more to be announced!

It will be a night of rock, reminiscing and drinking – and by the looks of this lineup, it’s going to be a huge night.

Tickets Available now via Oztix.
