Royal Botanical Gardens to host weekend concert ft John Farnham, Boy & Bear, Icehouse + more

Can we just take a second to applaud the team from Roundhouse Entertainment? Not only do they put on more than a dozen A Day on the Green concerts each year, they’ve recently added New Year’s Day festival Twice as Nice and this newest addition, A Weekend in the Gardens, will be their newest yet. Heck they are a busy team.

This year marks the 16th year of operation for A Day on the Green and also a year in which they celebrated their 400th concert and near 3million attendees over their history. The concert series has seen the likes of Fleetwood Mac, Elton John, Bryan Adams, Alicia Keys and John Legend grace the stage.

A Weekend in the Gardens is set to take place at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Melbourne, marking the first time in history an event such as this has taken place at the gardens.

Over the long weekend in March (from the 10-12) music-lovers will be entertained by the likes of John Farnham, Daryl Braithwaite and Ross Wilson on the Friday night, Boy & Bear, San Cisco and Amy Shark on Saturday and Icehouse, James Reyne and Clare Bowditch on Sunday.

As for the food, there’s the chance to have a one-off dining experience courtesy of Shannon Bennett’s iconic Jardin Tan (and a VIP experience ticket) as well as some of Melbourne’s best restaurants and food trucks including Ladro, Burn City Smokers, The Royale Brothers, Pommery Champagne and Oyster Bar – with more to be announced.

Members pre-sale tickets are on sale 2pm Tuesday, December 6 (sign up here) with public tickets on sale 10am Friday, December 9.
