We are officially entering the home stretch until music industry summit Face The Music returns to Melbourne, and now organisers have dropped their biggest list of speakers and live showcases yet.
Across two days Face The Music will round up some of the industry’s most well-established musicians and industry-folk, as well as some of the most exciting up and comers, to give delegates the opportunity to learn more about every possible facet of the music industry.
Whether it’s print, online, radio – or something a little more left of centre, Face The Music has it covered.
Briggs will be leading the Empowering Communities Through Leadership panel, Alex Lahey, Ainslie Wills, and Hiatus Kaiyote’s Nai Palm will be joining forces to discuss the art of songwriting, FTM will turn the spotlight on one of the most male-dominated genres with Women In Electronic Music and they’ll also bring together a group of doctors to offer insights into the impact music has on the brain in Music on the Mind.
Clean Up Your Act will put the focus on being environmentally conscious in your music, members of Peking Duk and their support team will dissect their 2016 Australiana tour and Jess Cornelius (Teeth & Tongue), Liam McGorry (Dorsal Fins), Tom Iansek (Big Scary) and Alice Ivy will be discussing the era of the artist/producer.
There will also be sessions covering everything from digital distribution to the relationship between music and video games, music streaming to the relevance of music criticism.
These brand spanking new speakers join the likes of sign language interpreter Amber Galloway, Pandora’s Alex White, Bandcamp’s Andrew Jervis, triple j’s Zan Rowe, and youtube music critic Anthony Fantano.
As well as a stack of impressive panels,Face The Music will also be incorporating live music for the very first time, with performances from powerhouses including GL, Jess Ribeiro, Jaala and Ecca Vandal.
