It’s International coffee day, so here’s an album made entirely from coffee-grind sounds

The future is here for the holy black bitter liquid; coffee.

Coffee gets sampled by our tastebuds, it goes up our sniffer, we appreciate when the barista can make a leef on the top. It touches all these senses and now coffee has reached the final frontier, the ears.

Gods amongst men Humbug Rehab took the time to create The Grind; an album made entirely of sampled sounds from coffee machines mixed and mashed.

It’s experimental, it’s beautiful, the people are rejoicing. Skeptics, of which there are few, may like to check it out simply because some of the tracks would be good bops to jog to or something.

While you’re looking up where you can buy The Grind online, also check to see if you’re anywhere near Sydney come International Coffee day, October 1 at the Dots Workshop in Marrickville, Sydney. There’s a special listening party event which you can find out more about here.

Another amazing layer to this development is the album itself, if you buy the physical copy it comes in cardboard sleeves printed on recycled stock with two native Australian trees planted to offset the carbon emissions. There is no way to lose here, support Australian coffee culture, support The Grind.
