One of the country’s finest exponents of the blues, Geoff Achison, will team up with a red hot new face on the circuit in Rhiannon Simpson for a date with Ararat Live on June 8.
Achison played alongside the late, great Dutch Tilders before beginning life as a solo artist in the mid nineties. In 1995, he represented Australia at the Memphis International Blues Challenge, winning the Albert King Award for ‘Most Promising Guitarist’. He is as good as they come.
Ballarat’s Rhiannon Simpson took out top honours at the Lazenby Young Blues Guitarist Awards at last year’s Bendigo Blues & Roots Music Festival.
She, along with some fellow music makers, recently made a big impression with their first gig.
