The Festival Raising Funds for Geelong Animal Rescue

The Geelong Animal Rescue (GAR) is a not-for-profit organisation established in 2012. Not to be confused with animal shelters, what makes GAR unique is that it operates from within the homes of volunteers, helping to provide homes to neglected and abandoned cats and dogs. Coming at up Geelong’s Barwon Club on July 16 is GARfest, an awesome fundraiser for an awesome organisation.

Just shy of twenty bands will come out to play, including Imogen Brough, The Kite Machine, Famous Will, Audemia, Formiles, Modern Divide, Von Stache, Dec McKinnon and the Knockabouts, For Pluto, Bound by Hound, Crum Town Radio, Alchemy Inc., Jessey Jackson, Princess Planet and the Perfect Gentleman, Tom Walker, Steve Thew, Deijah and Devilmonkey.

A raffle, silent auction and prizes for best dressed (animal theme, of course) will also feature. Further information can be found through facebook.com/garfest2016.

Further information on GAR, meanwhile, can be found through geelonganimalrescue.org.au. GAR’s mission statement: “Our mission is to provide a voice for abandoned, neglected and unloved cats and dogs. We aim to provide compassion and quality of life for rescued animals via love and expert rehabilitation. Our ultimate goal is to re home GAR animals into loving ‘forever’ families.”
