The Main Bar in Ballarat has something very special for blues fans, and it all kicks off this Saturday night, April 30. The Season of Blues features return showcases from some of the country’s finest blues acts and dates are loaded up until August.
Until April 30, season tickets are available for a cool $90, after which they’ll jump up a touch to $110. Now, your season ticket guarantees you entry to all of The Main Bar’s ‘Season of Blues’ shows, so either way it’s still a bargain. On to the acts, and Lloyd Spiegel will get the season underway on Saturday night.
While I don’t know what 13-year-olds generally get up to, touring the world probably isn’t high on the activity list. For Spiegel, he was visiting Europe, New Zealand and the US with guitar in-hand. He has been performing for more than 25 years, in which time he has just about done it all – twice. His latest release is Double Live Set, a live anthology recorded over two nights at the Spiegeltent. Future artists and dates include Shaun Kirk (June 4), Chris Wilson (June 18), Geoff Achison (July 16) and Jimi Hocking (August 13). Please note that tickets for individual shows are also available.
