Punk! #637

The Screeching Weasel/MxPx tour slated for next month has been scrapped. Screeching Weasel are notorious for pulling out of shows and tours at the last minute (not that they tour very much) and Aussie fans are understandably pissed off. The tour almost continued with MxPx headlining and Zebrahead opening, but it wasn’t deemed feasible with only a one month turnaround.

Guns N’ Roses absolutely blitzed it at Coachella, despite Axl being (mostly) confined to his throne (on loan from Dave Grohl!) with a broken foot. Angus Young from AC/DC made a surprise appearance to perform ‘Riff Raff’ with the band.

In other Guns news, Axl Rose is set to embark on a tour with AC/DC as the band’s touring vocalist. I shit you not!

The Scotland Calling festival may not be happening until this time next year, but the line-up ALREADY looks stupidly good! The Exploited, Toy Dolls, Angelic Upstarts, UK Subs, 999, Restarts and Chelsea will be heading the bill, and honestly, it ALREADY seems pretty good enough! If you’re going to be anywhere near Glasgow at the end of next April, you’d be crazy not to go!

Megadeth frontman/bigshot Dave Mustaine would like the world to know that he isn’t as much of an arsehole as they think he is. Okay then! I’m convinced!

The Atari’s are finally set to embark on another Australian tour! See them on the7th of June at 170 Russell, in support of their brand new studio album The Graveyard of the Atlantic. Supports TBA.
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice has overcome terrible reviews to score big-time at the international box office, raking in over 850 MILLION DOLLARS in less than a month. As it is, the movie is already one of the 50 biggest movies in motion picture history. This bodes very, very well for the soon-to-be-released Suicide Squad!

The Greenfield festival being held in Chile on the 8-11 June is shaping up to be a biggie! Guns N’ Roses and the Red Hot Chili Peppers are set to co-headline the event, with Nightwish, Dropkick Murphy’s, Billy Talent, Pennywise, Volbeat and NOFX helping to round out the bill. Yowsa!
Rumours are flying thick and fast about Ace Frehly possibly returning to the KISS fold in some capacity. I, for one, would be ecstatic- but I’m not holding my breath. Call me crazy, but it just ain’t KISS without Peter and Ace!

I don’t condone violence, but what I wouldn’t have given to see actor Nicolas Cage brawling on a Las Vegas street with Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil!

Youth Authority is the title of the brand new Good Charlotte album, and something tells me that it’s actually going to be very, very good. Snobbery aside, GC have always been one of the better pop-punk/rock bands out there.

That’s us done for another issue. Some huge news coming up, so stay tuned- so to speak. This isn’t a radio!
