It soon becomes clear that Loren Ryan is all about telling a story. ‘Ain’t No Stopping You’ is a great example of that and has a Colbie Caillat feel to it. The track does what a nice song should – put a smile on your dial. While it may rhyme, which can frustrate some people, it’s got a catchy chorus and you can’t ask for much more than that.
“You’ve got that fire in you, I feel it burning baby, get back up on your feet and fight again” is echoed through title track ‘Fight’ and it’s the kind of power-ballad that says a bit for the little guys who have been bullied or hit down with hard times. Something we can all relate to, whether we were the culprits doing it or the one close to giving up. The piano to close the song is particularly beautiful.
Through this release, Loren Ryan has already shown her versatility – both vocally and genre-wise. She’s set to be a talent in an age where at times it seems your biggest skill has to be being a music producer (thanks for that Flume). Loren turns music back to its roots.
