Nature Sessions #5: Nathan Seeckts

Get keen for another great artist coming out of Geelong in this new Nature Sessions!
Nathan Seeckts describes his songs as being about “gambling, drinking, cheap women, hard times, fast cars that won’t take you anywhere and life in small towns.” So all the good stuff, obviously.
This Acoustic/Folk and alternative Country artist has been doing quite well for himself since he started his music career, having two previous releases and just dropping a 6 track EP under the title of “Oceans of Women and Wine” which includes collaborations with Chris Black and Lucy Wilson.
Seeckts has produced all his releases off his own back in his home studio. He’s been inspired by artists such as Paul Kelly, Ben Nicholas and Bruce Springsteen and it shows in his heartfelt tunes. Seeckts says of the songs he’s created, “they are tales that come from where I live. The place that I call home.” This guy’s all about writing of personal experiences, and that stuff sells.
His music definitely has the country acoustic feel to it and you can easily follow along with the story that Seeckts is telling. His rough voice adds to his music and the story that goes along with it and the minimalistic instruments let his words and voice come through clearly without being drowned out by multiple instruments.
So have a listen to this installment of Nature Sessions set in Geelong’s old paper mill, hope you enjoy and we’ll catch you for the next one!
