KESHA UPDATE
While not much has changed with her legal situation with Sony Music and producer Dr Luke, EDM maestro Zedd (the man behind ‘Break Free’, featuring a lead vocal by Ariana Grande) has reached out to Kesha with an offer to collaborate on a new single – and it looks like a goer! It should see the light of day this year and fans are super excited! This will be the first thing she’s featured on since ‘Timber’ with Pitbull, and that was EPIC! Something tells me Kesha’s on her way to a bigger, brighter career…
BEYONCÉ FLOP?
Well, for all the hype, praise and controversy Queen Bey stirred up with her ‘Formation’ video/single, it turns out the song was actually a commercial failure. But does it matter? Not really. I think she was making a statement with that song, and not necessarily counting on it to be a hit in its own right…
NINA SIMONE BIOPIC CONTROVERSY
Zoe Saldana has come under fire for darkening her skin to play Nina Simone in an upcoming Nina Simone biopic. The light-skinned actress has even been accused of going “blackface” – despite being African American herself! Note to haters: it’s not blackface if you actually are black! Y’all need to get a grip. That aside, the movie sounds like it’s going to be amazing. Nothing like a bit of drama to stir up interest in a movie, eh?
SPEAKING OF MOVIES
The Ghostbusters reboot (featuring an INCREDIBLE all star female cast, including Bridesmaids’ Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy!) and My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 are both headed to the big screen in coming weeks. Not to mention Batman Vs Superman (which also features the first ever appearance of Wonder Woman on the big screen)! Laughs, drama, beefcake, movie going heaven!
SAMANTHA JADE
The vocal powerhouse/actress is turning in a stellar performance on Home And Away, but some new music wouldn’t go astray! Her smash hit from a little while back, ‘Firestarter’, is still burning up dancefloors (including mine!) so somebody needs to get her back into the studio!
SPEAKING OF VOCALISTS ON TV…
Has anybody seen NOA on Australia’s Got Talent? He describes himself as the love-child of Nicki Minaj and Lady Gaga! Is he any good? With time, he really could be – he certainly exudes a lot of confidence and creativity! Fellow contestants Sisters Doll were pretty good, too – kind of like a cross between Poison and KISS – no wonder Kelly Osborne loves them!
50 CENT BROKE AF
Yet posting pictures of himself surrounded by stacks of hundred dollar bills (at least a milli worth!) on social media? Way to declare yourself bankrupt! Does this man not have people around him to reign him in a little? Sheesh! Maybe Jason Derulo dating his baby-mama is messing with his head! And no, I’m not kidding: Mr Derulo is proving himself to be quite the ladies man!
SLAY-DY GAGA
Fans are CLAMOURING for new material in the wake of her moving performance of ‘Til It Happens To You’ at the Academy Awards. Elton John, who recently heard some of the new album, swears it’s going to be the best thing she’s ever done – and I’m inclined to believe him! In other news, Gaga is also set to return to the set of American Horror Story for season 6!

For all the excitement and expectation heaped on the reformed Sugababes line-up, it now seems the girls have gone AWOL. No new music as promised, no new promo pics of the girls together, nothing. Oh dear. Dreams: crushed.
SAM AND ADAM, SITTING IN A TREE
K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Yes, it’s rumoured the Princesses of Pop and Soul (Adam Lambert and Sam Smith respectively) have been hooking up since meeting at an awards show earlier this year – salacious! It seems Sam has been having a rough time since his “off” performance of the James Bond theme song at the Academy Awards, so maybe a little canoodling (so to speak) will do him some good…

Huge apologies to those of you who turned up to the first Popped! Club Night recently and thought it had been cancelled – apparently it’s not a given that nightclubs turn on the lights or put a bouncer and velvet rope in front of a venue to let people know that something is indeed happening in the building!
