LISTEN OUT FOR…MaZZiLoVe

Hi! Thanks for chatting with me today! Can you introduce yourself?

It’s my pleasure. My birth name is Marec Komarnyckyj, but you can call me  MaZZiLoVe.
I am the vocalist/guitarist/songwriter. My background is a European mix of French, German, Italian and Polish, just to name a few, although I don’t really believe in borders. I currently reside in the Northern Beaches in Australia.

Describe your newest single.

My latest track ‘If Only’ is almost like an anthem for overcoming fears or maybe knowing something big and amazing is going to happen and to just go with the flow, even though you might not feel ready at the time. It’s all about finding your divine path and knowing that anything is possible if you just connect to that universal energy and believe in the divine power that resides inside all of us.

If you could share the stage with one other artist, who would it be and why?

It’s so difficult to narrow it down to just one. I would have to say…Motley Crue in the ’80s – imagine the after party, those dudes partied harder than anyone. Nikki Sixx died three times and he’s still rockin’ out. It’s probably not the answer you would expect. I don’t think people understand that you can live a spiritual life and still get crazy from time to time, it’s all about balance and it’s good for the soul to let go sometimes.

You’re stuck on a desert island with a CD player and some batteries- you’re only allowed ONE CD – what would it be?

Ok, let’s see (after 40 mins of going through my entire music collection) I think I will go with ‘Electric Ladyland’ by Jimi Hendrix. I chose this album because I feel very connected to this time in history. Hippies, peace, love, freedom, experimentation: Jimi embodied all these things and when I listen to this album it totally makes me feel like I’m right there experiencing it all first hand. People started realising for the first time that there is a better way than this corrupt system we are forced to be a part of. I feel we are on the verge of a  similar  movement now, with more and more people no longer willing to be slaves to the almighty dollar. Viva la Revolution!!

Where can we find it/see you play?

We are currently focusing on writing and recording but hope to start playing shows in and around Sydney and the Northern beaches in a few months. I’m currently auditioning musicians so anyone in the Northern beaches area in Sydney that’s diggin’ what we’re doing we’d love to hear from you. There’s also a good chance of a full length debut album for early next year.

Release: ‘If Only’ single is out now on iTunes
