My Holy Grail Cosmetics

I often get asked about my favourite beauty products, the items I would re-purchase if I — God forbid — lost my entire makeup collection. So I decided, why not write an article about it? When I go away, I find myself taking the bare minimum; my absolute must haves. These are those must haves.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum

Of all the foundations I have tried (and I have tried many), this is by far my favourite. I have dry combination skin, and this foundation is super hydrating, but not at all oily — perfect for my skin type. It also has light to medium coverage and has a finish that looks like skin. It’s a perfect middle ground between a foundation and a tinted moisturiser.

NARS Creamy Concealer

I have really horrid under-eye bags, which is why I absolutely love this concealer. You do need to be careful with this one, as if you do use too much it can cake up. I find setting it with a powder helps prevent creasing too. However, it has the best coverage I’ve come across in a concealer, and is very brightening to the eye.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz

Anybody who knows me, knows that eyebrows are everything. My all time favourite brow product for everyday brows is by far this product. It’s super quick, simple and easy, not to mention super natural and very hard to over-do. Its waxy consistency also helps keep your brow hairs in place, which is perfect if you have unruly brow hairs like mine.

Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara

If fluttery lashes are what you’re after, this is the mascara for you. Its formula is amazing, and is near impossible to mess up. Its very thin consistency gives you length and a little volume, just enough to have everyone else wondering if they’re real eyelashes or not.

Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel

This item is definitely a bit of a splurge, but it is the best splurge you will ever make. It’s almost like a solid or cream bronzer, so not only does a little go a long way, but this bronzer is the most perfectly natural, non-orange, non-muddy bronzer I’ve ever used. It also happens to make your cheekbones looks amazing, which is what really matters after all.

MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Lightscapade

As far as highlighting goes, I’m not sure that you can get anything that’s very natural, because usually skin doesn’t give off a perfect bright glow. However, if there is one highlighter that does look the most ‘natural’, it’s this one. A cult favourite, it’s a perfect, minimal glow that gives a barely detectable glow to the skin.

All these products paired together make the ultimate ‘natural’ or ‘no makeup’ makeup look, ideal for those days that you need to look bright and awake. If you’re in the market, or if you want to down-size your collection, I can promise you won’t be disappointed by any of the products on my must-have list.
