Lime Cordiale: Road to Paradise

Although released in November last year, if you haven’t heard the buzz surrounding Lime Cordiale, then you must honestly be living under a rock. On their Road To Paradise EP, the follow up to 2013’s Falling Up The Stairs, there is quite a nod to The Rubens. I don’t know whether or not this is a deliberate decision, but from listening to opening track ‘Spider Legs’, it is comforting to know that the ‘new age Australian sound’ is in good hands.

Having played at SXSW, Big Sound and toured around with the likes of Ball Park Music, The Griswolds, The Rubens and Cosmo Jarvis, Lime Cordiale are the next big thing in Australian music.

The bass is heavy and the melodies are strong and give choruses that are best sung at the top of your lungs. Hopefully it’s not too long before we hear a debut record from this crew, but Road To Paradise is so delectable throughout its six tracks that it will tide you over until that time. Choice tunes once again boys, thank you!
