Too Heavy to Hug #631

Welcome to THTH, Forte’s premier source of all things heavy, hard, fast and metal.

Attention drinkers! Mastodon have released their very own beer stein! It’s based on their The Hunter album, is made of pewter and ceramic and holds 500ml of beer. The beer stein is $125.00 from the band’s web store. Rumour has it they’re limited edition so get in quick. Finally, a proper quality product to do with beer that has been released by a band that isn’t beer and that isn’t just a gimmick. Imagine how cool it would feel to drink out of one of those steins and I know you can see what I’m talking about, because you’ve Googled it as you’re reading this and now you’re probably ordering one.

If you missed the Triple J Hottest 100 this year because you thought 1) you’d know none of the songs and 2) that would make you feel old and 3) what’s the point anyway, they don’t play metal because 4) who cares, I can celebrate Australia Day a different way this year, then see below the list of songs that are remotely metal and appeared in this year’s Hottest 100:

Like Soda by Violent Soho number 15

Shine On by The Amity Affliction number 25

Throne by Bring Me The Horizon number 45

Crushed by Parkway Drive number 48

Vice Grip by Parkway Drive number 58

Happy Song by Bring Me The Horizon number 86

True Friends by Bring Me The Horizon number 99
