Sun Records All-Stars

Aside from playing record after record, it’s rare that we get to relive the wonder of music legends form the past. Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis and Johnny Cash are some of the icons we often miss, but they’ll all be coming together in tribute show: the Sun Records All-Stars. And while they may br tributes, they feel as close to the real deal as you can get, we did a quick run down of the stars responsible for making it happen.

Bill Culp as Carl Perkins

Best known for his portrayal of Carl Perkins in “The Sun Records Story”, Bill Culp has toured the USA, Canada, Europe and even the Arctic Circle in his musical travels. He plays guitar, bass (electric and upright), drums, and sings lead and harmony vocals. Bill has portrayed “The Big Bopper” with the cast of “Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story”, and was critically praised for his starring role as Elvis Presley’s infamous manager “Colonel Tom Parker” in the North American hit musical “Blue Suede Shoes”. Bill has scored several songs on North American radio charts as a solo Americana recording artist, and also works as a voiceover actor for numerous Hollywood films.

Joe Passion as Jerry Lee Lewis

His fans just call him “The Killer” for a good reason. When you see this star rock ’n’ roller on stage, you know where the name comes from; no microphone which is not sent whirling through the air, no instrument far from the brink of destruction, and no audience member left un-thrilled or shocked. Passion delivers a show which is a challenge for musicians and top-class entertainment for the audience. Joe does not just slip into the role of Jerry Lee Lewis – he lives it. His incredible temperament enables him to light up the stage night after night, and not just metaphorically. His last tour to Australia found his off stage wild child antics; swimming with Great Whites off of Stradbroke Island; sparing Red and Brown Roos at Surfers Paradise Zoo, Straddling the Tree Top walk in Victoria, and raising hell at the Albany Museum with the Skylab exhibit… He’s wondering what’s next on this tour.
