Five Burgers You Need to Make Your Next Meal

Looking at a well made burger is like looking at a work of art, in saying that, there are some seriously fine burger artisans in Geelong. We picked our top five, here they are in no particular order…

Boss Burger Co Boss Burger Co

The newest burger joint to join the ranks, it wouldn’t be fair without mentioning these burger making kings. The hype well and truly paid off with this one – how could it not with such a pairing of Burgers of Geelong and Launch? The burgers are juicy, delicious and totally bass-arse. There’s even such a thing as ‘Big Dawg Fries’ loaded with the stuff of dreams.

(Bonus mention) Launch EspressoLaunch

So maybe we’re cheating giving a half number, but as they’re part-owners of Boss Burger Co, we thought they are most definitely deserving of a separate mention. Launch are responsible for a return of the saucy, slippery, carb-loaded burgers that make your heart skip a beat – for all the right reasons. They may make messy burgers, but it’s often the messy things in life that are the best. It’s worth testing your skills at the burger eating comp too…

Burger Johnny Burger Johnny

The sauce is strong with this one… Burger Johnny whip up a mean American mustard sauce that will have you licking your fingers for days. But burger-wise, they pack ’em high, force in the flavour and make each bun-wrapped treat a delight! You can’t go past the ‘Johnny Burger’ for your first time. Easy does it.

Burger Inc Burger Inc.

10 years of creating burgers puts you in pretty good stead as one of the best in the region. After flipping pattys and frying chicken breasts for so many years, Burger Inc have become a favourite amongst locals and a source for hangovers all across Geelong. There’s something a little bit fancy about a Burger Inc burger, but don’t be fooled. The sauce is to die for (seriously, what’s the secret?!) the ingredients are top notch and the menu is looonngg – be sure to factor in an additional five minutes just to decide.

Daily Food Co. Daily Food Co.

If you can hunt them down (Daily Food Co are a food truck) and taste just one burger, you’ll soon spend the rest of your life chasing their cute little green trailer all across the region. Kid you not, their burgers are. That. Good! Some say they make the finest sliders going ’round. Nonetheless, these guys dish up a classic American treat, complete with pickles and mustard with the flavour cranked all the way. They’re set to hit a spot in Torquay, so stick around for this one…

Where: Soon to hit Torquay so stay tuned (food truck)

 The Barwon Club Hotelbarwon club

The BC may be known for their parmis and music, but they’ve also got a monster of a burger that you need to get in and around your mouth. While we’re not dietitians, we’d say it has every level of the food pyramid covered, and isn’t that what makes a great burger? If you’re after the full pub experience, and you want a burger that takes two fists to eat, this is for you.
