Don’t Shave, Never Behave

The year was 2005, and some mates came together to play what was supposed to be a oneoff show in their hometown of Adelaide. But those that were there that night felt something. Something unexplainable.

It was as if someone or something above looked down upon these men and bestowed them with a power. A power that few of us will ever realise; one that fewer still could handle. Ordinary men these were no more. No more were they ordinary. These were now wise men with beautiful manes, as if they beat the heart of a lion and held the balls of a tuberous bush cricket.

Their message was pure: spread the word about beards. Now, after ten years, four studio albums and 56 songs about beards, the magnificent manly men of The Beards are calling it a day. Before they go, they will be doing one last lap of the country – and ‘In the Loop’ folk, you’re getting some farewell shows.

Fortunately for you, the shows are not for a little while yet. Fortunately, because it gives you enough time to at least get a little hair on your pitifully, but otherwise gorgeous, smooth faces. The Loft, Warrnambool – May 25; The Vine, Bendigo – May 26; The Karova, Ballarat – June 23; and The Barwon Club, Geelong – June 24.
