Walk into Two Sugars café at any given moment and it’s abuzz with life. There’s no denying that the Highton venue has become a favourite for locals and it’s success helped create their second venture on Pakington Street in Geelong West. “Highton has a very local and community feel – it’s a very rustic, very warm ambience. We have a lot of regular customers here where they eat for breakfast and they’ll come back and dine in the evening as well.”
As the days are getting cooler, it’s only natural for us to seek comfort in the meals we eat. Our stomachs crave the warmth found in hearty winter meals of slow-cooked lamb, healthy soups and the rich butterscotch sauce of a sticky date pudding. These are all items found at the Darriwill Farm Café and meals that head chef Josh Beaumont loves to cook.
At first glance you mightn’t notice just how much detail went into creating 10sqM. But take a closer look and you’ll see that the copper detail in the artworks by local artist Little Quarters match the Duckfat pendants hanging above, the mandala painted by Natalia Berlizova has real coffee colouring part of the artwork and a mural in the laneway by street artist Glummo was specially made for the cafe.
