To me, winter has always been the most promising time of year for clean and stylish fashion trends. There’s something about the bite of the crisp air, paired with a deep coloured lip and a huge cosy jacket that just really gets my heart racing. That or the excuse to break open the piggy bank […]
I don’t know a single person that doesn’t love a good bargain, and as somebody whose wardrobe is made up of what can be bought on a student budget, there’s nothing that gets me more excited than the phrase ‘warehouse sale’. For those of you who aren’t familiar, warehouse sales usually happen at the end […]
Stereotypically, university is meant to be one of the most adventurous and excitingly wonderful times of your life. I hate to burst that bubble, but in reality, it mostly consists of lectures and last minute cramming to get assignments in on time. Which is why it can get very repetitive and mundane very quickly, especially if you don’t find ways to shake things up.
My mum always told me to invest in a good quality bag – rather than spend money on trendy throw away pieces. The reason being that once you have the right bag, it can dress up any outfit. Taking the time to make sure you choose the right bag is important, considering it can be one of the biggest investments in your wardrobe.
There’s nothing that feeds my organisation fixation more than organising my handbag. In the same way, there’s nothing that sends my OCD (obsessive cleanliness disorder) into overdrive quite like when a girl opens her bag, unleashing a plethora of six-month-old receipts, dirty napkins, leaking lip gloss tubes and a broken wallet, complete with loose coins jingling around the bottom.
It’s the time of year when everybody is visiting family or going away for New Year’s or just simply getting out of dodge for a few weeks to recharge. I’m planning on doing the same thing myself in a few weeks’ time, and yes, I have already packed. I have to pack light, which was a challenge for me, so I decided come up with nine pieces of clothing that I absolutely HAD to bring with me, and figured it wouldn’t hurt to share it with you guys as well!
As a stylist, I find far too often – when going through the wardrobes of friends and family members – that so many of the ladies out there are seriously lacking in, what I like to call, the ‘essentials of life’. These are the pieces of clothing that can make putting together an outfit so much easier. So I’ve decided to give you a run down of five items that you might want to think about adding to your wardrobe – if they’re not already in there.
I think most of us would know exactly how nerve-racking a first date can be, particularly if there’s pre-existing feelings involved. The most stressful part of the whole thing, for me anyway, is deciding how I’m going to present myself on this date with this person that I’ve obviously got the mega-hots for (but we’re trying to keep that under wraps).
Whilst the weather has been warming up recently, so has the prospect of a new job. Hiring season is most definitely here, and rivalry is in the air. Considering how many young people are looking for a job over summer, you can expect the competition to be fierce.
Ladies and gentlemen, it’s that time of the year again: racing season. It’s time to pop open that bottle of bubbly, chuck on your best duds and head out to the racetrack to place your bets on, what you’re praying will be, the winning horse. The only question is what to wear. Well, that’s what I’m here for.
