Anyone who knows me well also knows that autumn and winter are my all-time favourite seasons when it comes to fashion. The trends are easy to follow, and who doesn’t want to feel like they’re wearing a giant blanket around for clothing all day every day? I know I do. So I thought I would run through my top three style essentials for the cooler months of the year.
I remember there was once a time in my life in which I would only have to hear the word ‘vest’ and I would cringe so hard that I was convinced I wouldn’t survive. Little did I know how those long sleeveless pieces of fabric would grow to become one of my favourite things in my wardrobe.
I’ve touched on quite a few things here on my little column, but one thing I don’t think I have ever talked about is hair. This is mainly due to the fact that I’m not very good at it, and in turn being the reason I have mine mostly cut off.
Having just begun a big-girl makeup course, and having already learnt so many useful things, if there is one thing I have learnt about achieving a great face of makeup, is that you need a great base to get a great face.
We’ve all been there, not knowing whether to let go or hold on and hope for greener pastures. I know better than most how hard it is to let go of something that you have loved deeply and truly for so long, or something you had such high hopes for.
I often get asked about my favourite beauty products, the items I would re-purchase if I — God forbid — lost my entire makeup collection. So I decided, why not write an article about it? When I go away, I find myself taking the bare minimum; my absolute must haves. These are those must haves.
I think it would be fair to say that some people might call me a fashion snob. I dislike trends, I describe my personal style as ‘classic’, and I exclusively wear black, grey, white, camel and khaki – with the exception of the occasional blue denim jean.
Every six months or so, I go though this weird, unexplainable phase in which I become completely unsatisfied with everything about my physical appearance, and I am convinced that I can not be the only one that experiences this phenomenon.
