The most amusing metal news recently has to do with Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington losing his shit about people calling the band sell outs because apparently two new singles from their to be released album have been described as “adult contemporary”
If you’re like me and you spend time checking ALL the metal websites, you’ll probably have seen an update about the new Tool album where the update is Tool won’t release an album this year (neither will A Perfect Circle, apparently).
Another year is upon us and with it comes a whole swag of new albums to get into. Whilst still early, confirmed releases for January include releases from Pain Of Salvation, Once Human, a Witchmaster/Voidhanger split album, Emmure, Boris The Blade, Kreator, and the Sepultura box set entitled The Roadrunner Albums 1985 – 1996.
Legendary brothers slash drummers Vinny and Carmine Appice are coming to Australia early next year. The Appice Brothers: Drums Wars will feature the brothers playing some of their greatest hits from previous bands. Both drummers will be on stage and amongst the hits and guest musicians, the brothers will also be holding some massive drum battles, wicked solos and showing off some crazy tricks.
With the recent “surprise-release” of Avenged Sevenfold’s new album The Stage the internet’s best super sleuths AKA overly-obsessed-metal-fans-with-too-much-time-on-their-hands have started, well, obsessing about the fact the band will be releasing even more music on December 9.
